We are seeking a part time Catering Assistant to join our Sefton Park campus. This campus provides education and care for up to 70 young people aged 9-19 who have a history of emotionally based school non-attendance (EBSNA), high levels of anxiety and significant gaps in learning due to disrupted educational journeys.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To assist and operate within the kitchen during daily food production and service on allocated tasks as per daily menu supplied, ensuring proper standards of presentation and correct economical use of materials and equipment.
- To undertake washing up and the safe and correct cleaning of the kitchen premises and equipment
- To clear the dining area including sweeping, mopping floors and moving light furniture
- To serve meals as requested whilst being responsive to customer preferences
- To assist in providing and transporting refreshments for staff, visitors, Governors and Trustees as required
- To assist the Senior Catering Assistant with paperwork and stock control
- To remove all rubbish and leftovers at the end of each day
- To be aware of the importance of food hygiene and undertake any necessary action to ensure the safety of food provided to staff and students
- To report equipment, maintenance problems and energy leaks to the line manager in a timely fashion
