Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Catering Manager in serving school meals.
- Clean kitchen premises and equipment.
- Prepare all food, including special dietary meals.
- Assist with basic paperwork.
- Provide instruction to and supervise lower graded staff and trainees.
- Carry out regular stocktaking and issue stock as required by the Catering Manager.
- Ensure hygiene and Health and Safety standards, and carry out corrective action as necessary.
- Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the school's Published Policies and Practices Documents.
- Assist in providing refreshments for Governors' and staff meetings, maintaining high standards of hygiene.
- Assist in training new staff.
- Report equipment and maintenance problems and energy leaks to the Line Manager.
- Assist in the organisation of food service areas, ensuring proper standards of presentation.
