Our client, a well-established specialist manufacturing and distribution business, is seeking a Head of Warehousing, Logistics and Facilities to lead warehouse operations, stock control, logistics, facilities management and EU export compliance. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this senior role will oversee the strategic and day-to-day management of warehouse, transport, export and facilities functions. The successful candidate will drive operational efficiency, ensure compliance, manage supplier relationships and lead continuous improvement across a busy, quality-focused environment.
Key Duties:
- Lead warehousing, logistics, facilities and EU export strategies in line with business objectives.
- Oversee goods-in, storage, stock control, inventory accuracy and dispatch operations.
- Manage inbound and outbound transport to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery performance.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers, freight partners, logistics providers, facilities suppliers and service vendors.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, building regulations, environmental standards, company policies and EU export requirements.
- Manage customs documentation, Incoterms, export records, freight forwarders and customs brokers.
- Oversee facilities maintenance, planned works, service contracts, budgets and supplier performance.
- Monitor KPIs across warehousing, logistics, facilities and export compliance, reporting to senior management.
- Identify and deliver improvements across cost control, automation, lean processes, energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Lead, mentor and develop warehouse, logistics and facilities teams, promoting a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven senior-level experience across warehousing, logistics, facilities management and EU export compliance.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain operations, stock control, transport management, customs regulations and facilities compliance.
- Experience managing budgets, suppliers, logistics partners, freight forwarders and service contracts.
- Confident using WMS, ERP and export documentation systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience delivering cost savings, process improvements, lean initiatives or sustainability projects.
- Degree-level qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Facilities Management, Business Administration or a related subject would be advantageous.
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in warehousing and logistics, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
