A well established organisation in High Wycombe is recruiting a permanent full-time hands-on Trade Counter Administrative Assistant. This role involves supporting trade counter activities through customer interaction, order management, basic glass cutting, and general office duties. It is ideal for someone with experience in customer service or administration who is comfortable working in an office setting.

The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8am until 4:30pm, and Friday mornings from 8am until midday. The salary offered is between £28,000 and £32,000 per annum. The package includes annual leave entitlement, eligibility for a bonus scheme, parking availability, pension contributions, and a collaborative team environment.

Duties will include:

  • Delivering customer service at the trade counter and over the telephone
  • Accurately processing customer orders using Xero
  • Prepare quotes and estimates using Xero
  • Participating in basic material handling tasks with training provided
  • Performing basic glass cutting duties following training and safety guidelines
  • Managing the company email inbox and responding to enquiries as appropriate
  • Maintaining and updating stock records to support inventory control
  • Communicating with suppliers and coordinating with internal teams
  • Performing general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
  • Assisting the team with additional duties as required

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in customer-facing or administrative roles
  • Experience in trade counter, workshop, construction supply or similar environment
  • Competent computer skills, including use of common office software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and a professional approach
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure

  • Experience using Xero for quotes, invoices, and basic finance administration
  • Previous experience in glazing, hardware, or building merchant settings
