Overview
This position is Temporary and required ASAP. There is the possibility of this role going from temporary β permanent but to be discussed at a later stage. Hybrid role with flexibility.
A leading international provider of specialist financial services is seeking a Financial Lines Claims Manager to join its London-based operation. This is a high-impact role, responsible for overseeing complex claims across multiple delegated authority programmes operating in the UK, Europe, and the US.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience in Financial Lines claims β including classes such as Directors & Officers, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber β and a proven ability to manage service providers, resolve complex losses, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the handling of large or complex claims referred under delegated authority programmes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor claims performance of MGAs and TPAs, ensuring adherence to service agreements and expected standards.
- Maintain robust communication with reinsurers and internal stakeholders regarding large losses and material claim movements.
- Collaborate with actuarial teams to support accurate IBNR estimations with timely claims data and insights.
- Conduct monthly analysis of delegated programme performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Carry out due diligence on prospective programmes, including international travel as needed.
- Address and follow up on audit findings, ensuring appropriate resolution with service providers.
- Support resolution of claims-related complaints in coordination with the internal complaints team.
- Evaluate third-party supplier agreements to ensure value and service quality.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with legal counsel, brokers, and claims partners.
- Contribute to internal claims projects and ensure compliance with applicable UK and international regulations, including sanctions, financial crime, and consumer duty obligations.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years\β experience handling Financial Lines claims across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated expertise in classes such as D&O, PI, Cyber, Political Risk, ATE, or Legal Expense.
- Strong understanding of delegated authority structures and third-party administrator oversight.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Confident working with data and claims systems to support actuarial and regulatory reporting.
- Experience conducting claims due diligence and programme audits.
- Fluency in Italian or another European language is desirable.
- Legal or CII qualifications are advantageous.
