Our client, a specialist precision engineering manufacturer based in High Wycombe, is seeking an experienced CNC Setter to join their growing team. Working within a high-specification subcontract manufacturing environment, this is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with strong turning and milling experience to take ownership of work from setup through to inspection and sign-off. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, solving technical challenges, and contributing to continuous improvement within a modern and quality-focused engineering business.

Key Duties:

  • Set, prove out and run first-off components on CNC lathes and machining centres.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Design and manufacture workholding solutions including soft jaws, fixtures and jigs.
  • Write and edit CNC programs using Siemens ShopTurn and ShopMill controls.
  • Carry out in-process and final inspections using standard metrology equipment.
  • Complete first-off sign-off procedures using digital shop floor systems.
  • Support production workflow and assist with problem-solving on the shop floor.
  • Contribute to tooling optimisation, cycle time reduction and process improvements.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and Health & Safety compliance.

  • Fully time-served CNC machinist with strong turning and milling experience.
