Location: London Marylebone, Aylesbury or Banbury / Hybrid Working – you should be comfortable working in a Chiltern location 3 days a week.
Salary: Up to £67,925 per annum
Job Purpose
The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) acts as the strategic interface between IT and the business units, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring IT services align with organizational goals. The BRM is responsible for understanding business needs, driving demand management, and enabling the delivery of value through technology.
Key Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders to understand their strategic direction, challenges, and opportunities.
- Act as a trusted advisor and single point of contact for IT-related matters within designated business units.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritise IT initiatives that deliver tangible business value.
- Translate business needs into IT requirements, ensuring these are communicated clearly to IT teams.
- Work with IT delivery teams to oversee project execution, ensuring solutions meet business expectations.
- Develop and maintain a business capability roadmap in alignment with IT strategy and enterprise architecture.
- Facilitate demand management, helping the business articulate new ideas and assess them for feasibility and impact.
- Support change management activities by ensuring business readiness and user adoption of IT solutions.
- Track and report on the performance of IT services and projects to business stakeholders.
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
Personal Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience in a BRM, PM, BA, IT Business Partner, or similar role.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Deep understanding of business processes and how technology can drive business success.
- Experience in delivering IT services or projects in a complex environment.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical language and vice versa.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and project management methodologies.
Desirable:
- BRMP® or CBRM® certification.
- Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery models.
- Sector-specific knowledge of the rail industry.
