Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum

Job Purpose:

  • To manage the effective planning of short-term alterations for commercial, special event or engineering requirements, as required by the Timetable Production Manager.
  • To recognise how planning activities impact the business, safety and Company’s operation, and that the appropriate policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, ensuring that all such activities comply with the relevant sections of the Safety Case and the current Safety Plan.
  • Contribute to a safe and efficient railway.

Personal Specification:

  • Willingness to work independently on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • To be an ambassador for Chiltern Railways in the wider rail industry.
  • Experience in train planning or operations is preferable, along with a working knowledge of all aspects of scheduling principles and diagramming, including the processes used by Network Rail both for permanent schedules and short-term planning. However, training will be given.
  • Knowledge of VoyagerPlan, Tracs-RS, Attune or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • Competency is required in Microsoft Windows 2013 or above, with good knowledge of Excel essential.
  • Competency is required in Microsoft Office Suite with knowledge of Excel essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required together with good numeracy and an eye for detail and accuracy.
