Job Purpose

  • Optimise the short-term maintenance and train cleaning plan to keep our fleet moving safely and reliably.
  • Build strong relationships within the ICC to ensure trains are in the right place, at the right time.
  • Make sure specifications, materials and labour are aligned to deliver the plan.
  • Work closely with the Production team to deliver plans efficiently and effectively.
  • Support medium and long-term maintenance planning, including exams, modifications, campaigns, heavy maintenance and tyre turning.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure trains return to depots and outstations in line with maintenance and cleaning requirements.
  • Monitor defects and create clear, practical rectification plans.
  • Lead overnight fleet servicing and key corrective defect activities at outstations.
  • Drive improvements to reduce fleet-wide defects.
  • Plan and coordinate routine exams.
  • Lead conference calls to align maintenance and cleaning plans with key stakeholders.
  • Analyse data and produce reports to highlight performance and delivery gaps.
  • Work closely with Train Planning, Fleet Control and Duty Managers to maximise fleet availability.
  • Ensure all activities comply with the CRCL Safety Certificate and Safety Management System.
  • Build effective working relationships across departments to support safe and reliable operations.

Work with the Fleet Planning Manager on:

  • Supporting medium and long-term exam forecasting and communicating plans to Fleet Control, Production and Materials teams.
  • Tracking heavy maintenance activities and maintaining clear audit records.
  • Liaising with ROSCOs and vehicle owners, including support for lease and contract reviews.
  • Coordinating vehicle movements for heavy maintenance activities.
