Role: Area Manager – North Buckinghamshire\\nContract Type: Permanent\\nLocation: Aylesbury\\nSalary: £48,199 per annum\\n\\nJob Purpose\\n\\nTo manage and lead a team of frontline staff of varying disciplines based across a wide geographic area encompassing:\\n\\n * Aylesbury\\n\\n * Aylesbury Vale Parkway\\n\\n * Princes Risborough\\n\\n * Haddenham & Thame Parkway\\n\\n * Stoke Mandeville\\n\\n * Wendover\\n\\n * Great Missenden\\n\\n * Little Kimble\\n\\n * Monks Risborough\\n\\nEnsuring the highest standards of customer service, achievement of revenue targets and delivery of operational excellence through all station retail activities in an effective and efficient manner.\\n\\nThis role is accountable for the delivery of the station HSSE objectives. To ensure that job specific activities do not introduce unacceptable business and safety risk to any aspect of the Company’s operation, and that the appropriate policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, ensuring that all such activities comply with the relevant sections of the Safety Case and the current Safety Plan.\\n\\nKey Accountabilities\\n\\n * Responsible for establishing and maintaining station specific HSSE risk assessments, controlled station procedures and working in collaboration with HSSE to ensure all documentation is completed to the required standard.\\n\\n * Build and develop an effective team of frontline staff that delivers the highest standards of customer service and retail presentation by effective management of performance, welfare and development of all staff within the team.\\n\\n * Ensure appropriate training is provided to frontline staff with particular focus on retail knowledge, customer service, competency standards (where applicable), HSSE requirements and audit procedures.\\n\\n * To ensure the delivery of agreed revenue targets for your stations.\\n\\n * To ensure all activities are carried out within agreed budgetary limits through effective and efficient use of staff resources with guidance and direction to the roster team and effectively manage all local ordering of goods and services through implementation of appropriate control mechanisms.\\n\\n * To always ensure the safety and security of staff and customers on stations. Ensure that all HSSE related audits are completed and that all actions are undertaken in a timely manner.\\n\\n * To provide out of hours on call coverage as directed by the appropriate roster.\\n\\nPerson Specification\\n\\nEssential\\n\\n * Experience of managing large numbers of people\\n\\n * Experience of working in a fast paced environment with regular changing priorities\\n\\n * Experience of using office programmes for the purposes of writing reports (word) and measuring statistical performance (excel)\\n\\n * Able to assess different situations and act accordingly\\n\\n * Good problem solving skills\\n\\n * Able to work in a calm and efficient manner under pressure\\n\\n * Passionate about providing excellent customer service\\n\\n * Able to challenge and manage conflict and contentious issues\\n\\n * A strong level of understanding of HSSE processes, maintaining and following procedures\\n\\nDesirable\\n\\n * A good understanding of Railway operations\\n\\n * Understanding of Rail Geography
