An exciting fresh new opening for a Hardware Development Engineer or Electronics Engineer looking for a challenging career where they can develop and progress with a leading multinational engineering company that currently designs and develops futuristic factory automation products covering various industries including Automotive, Scientific, Renewable Energy, Space, Medical, Food Processing and Consumer Products.

Location: Milton Keynes & Home Based (flexible)

Salary: £35,000 - £47,000 - depending on experience, superb career and technical progression available, Bonus Scheme, Pension, Private Medical Insurance, 25 days holiday, sports and social club and subsidised canteen.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Hardware Development Engineer will have demonstrated the ability to work at a high level with minimal management.
  • They will support their team to coach and mentor less experienced Engineers.
  • Project Management – manage projects of significance, taking responsibility for their successful on time completion.
  • New Product Development – working closely with Engineers in the company to develop new products meeting market specifications, arranging prototypes, carrying out performance and life tests and evaluating results.
  • Taking responsibility of larger development projects ensuring timely completion.
  • Digital and analogue hardware design.
  • CAD software for electronic/electrical schematics.
  • Carrying out testing of electrical/electronic.

Experience / Qualifications required

  • Degree BSc, BEng or MEng, MSc in Electronics / Electrical and Electronic Engineering / Control Systems Engineering / Software Engineering / Mechatronics / Instrumentation or similar subject.
  • Experience of planning and managing own projects.
  • Experience of providing technical leadership to engineers.
  • Experience of writing technical reports and software documentation.
  • Ability to work as part of a multicultural team.
  • Able to travel to European customers when required.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Must be a good "team player" and able to work in a "results by consensus culture.".
  • 5+ years of work experience in at least 3 of the following:
    • With digital electronic design.
    • With analogue electronic design.
    • With PCB design software.
    • With CAD software for electronic/electrical schematics.
  • Electrical, Electronics, Software or Electromechanical Engineering degree 2:1 or better preferred.
  • Experience of working for a multinational company.
  • Experience of working with customers and suppliers.
  • Experience with ZUKEN / CR-8000 PCB design software.
