Are you a confident communicator who genuinely enjoys helping customers, solving problems and making sure things get sorted? We are recruiting a Customer Account Coordinator to join the Internal Sales team of a well-established global engineering and technology business based in Milton Keynes. This is a busy, customer-facing role where you’ll build relationships with customers, answer queries, resolve issues and work closely with internal teams to provide a consistently high level of service. You’ll need to be someone who can remain calm and professional under pressure, particularly when an order is delayed, a delivery date changes or a customer needs an urgent resolution.
The Role
- Answering incoming customer calls and responding to queries regarding products, pricing, deliveries, invoices and order progress
- Building strong relationships with customers and providing a friendly, professional service
- Taking ownership of customer enquiries and seeing them through to resolution
- Managing more challenging situations when orders or deliveries don’t go to plan, keeping customers informed and working internally to find solutions
- Responding to escalated customer issues in line with agreed procedures
- Keeping colleagues and management updated on customer accounts and escalations
- Developing relationships with key customers to support retention and future growth
- Working closely with External Sales Engineers, supporting them with customer requirements and sales administration
- Developing a good understanding of the company’s ERP system and internal processes
- Supporting the accounts receivable process, including invoice queries and invoices in dispute
- Following up on outstanding payments when required
- Working towards customer service, productivity and quality targets
What we’re looking for
You’ll be someone who enjoys dealing with people and takes pride in providing excellent customer service. You’ll also need:
- Previous customer service, account management, sales support or similar experience
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to speak directly with customers
- The ability to remain calm, positive and professional in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment
- Confidence dealing with difficult conversations when there are delays or problems to resolve
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage several priorities at once
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- A proactive, self-motivated approach
- The ability to work independently while being part of a busy team
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- A genuine desire to help customers and get things resolved
