Do you find yourself twiddling your thumbs and constantly clock watching or wishing the hours away until the end of your shift? Are you ready to re-ignite your fire? Whether you’re an existing kitchen Porter who’s looking for a change in environment, or you’re new to hospitality but would love to build a career in the kitchen. This could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Come and join our vibrant and dynamic kitchen team as a Kitchen Porter with Chilled Pubs.
Your main responsibility will be washing dirty dishes, kitchen utensils and cooking equipment. Our pubs are very busy places where you will need to enjoy keeping busy and being on your feet for long periods of time. You will need to complete general cleaning duties both in the kitchen and the yard, emptying bins, cleaning down surfaces and mopping the floors. You may be asked to support the kitchen team with basic tasks, such as stock rotation and unpacking deliveries, therefore some heavy lifting will be required for this role.
Who are we looking for?
- Somebody who naturally aligns with our values, which are to be warm & friendly and genuinely ‘guest-obsessed’.
- Somebody who understands the importance of teamwork and will offer their support in times of need.
- Somebody who enjoys being busy and can work at pace to manage the high volume we have at Chilled Pubs.
- Somebody who is comfortable to stand for long periods of time and undertake manual duties.
- Somebody who shares our passion for Chilled Pubs and is genuinely excited to be part of our team.
- If you’re interested in becoming a chef, we would love to support you and train you up internally!
- Somebody with a flexible approach to work, this isn’t a typical 9-5 role, and both evening and weekend work will be required.
What’s in it for you?
- A competitive & industry leading salary is available for this position, dependent on previous experience.
- 28 days paid holiday.
- Christmas and New Year’s Day off, every year!
- Your birthday is a PAID DAY OFF.

- A sociable team where you’ll become part of the family.
- Instant access to Wage-Stream (you can access your salary early essentially).
- Monthly incentives, yearly ‘Dennis Awards’ dinners, and company wide competitions to win tickets to some of the biggest music shows in the UK.
- Pension scheme (opt in / out) available after 3 months employment.
- Career development opportunities - whether this is in-house, externally delivered training programmes, or via our Apprenticeship partner (Lifetime), we have a real appetite at Chilled Pubs to ‘grow our own’ future leaders.
