We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our growing team. This is a commercially focused and strategically important role, responsible for shaping and delivering a compelling luxury childrenswear offer across apparel, footwear, and accessories. You will work closely with senior leadership to define range direction, strengthen brand partnerships, and drive performance across a fast-moving global business.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate seasonal collections across top tier luxury and premium brands.
- Influence the buying strategy, ensuring ranges are commercially strong, brand-aligned, and customer-led.
- Analyse sales performance, margin, and stock levels to drive trading decisions and maximise profitability.
- Identify emerging trends, customer behaviours, and market opportunities, translating insight into actionable product direction.
- Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with leading international luxury brands and suppliers.
- Negotiate with brand partners to secure commercial terms, exclusives, and key product opportunities.
- Drive brand performance by understanding individual strengths and strategically maximising their potential within the range.
- Work closely with Merchandising to optimise stock levels, intake planning, and in-season trading actions.
- Partner with Marketing to influence product storytelling, campaigns, and key seasonal initiatives.
- Contribute to buying strategy meetings, range reviews, and seasonal planning processes.
- Manage and support a high-performing buying team, setting clear standards, direction, and accountability.
- Attend UK and international trade shows and buying appointments to source and develop new product opportunities.
- Collaborate with wider teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of business objectives.
About You (Skills & Experience)
- Proven experience in a Buyer or Senior Buyer role within luxury or premium fashion, ideally across childrenswear, apparel, footwear, and accessories.
- Strong commercial awareness with a proven ability to build high-performing ranges that maximise sales and margin.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret trading data, identify opportunities, and confidently forecast trends.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and networking skills, with the confidence to challenge and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong brand awareness, with the ability to understand individual brand strengths and leverage them effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain successful supplier relationships, while identifying and onboarding new brand partners.
- A confident and clear communicator, able to articulate product vision and business strategy both internally and externally.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally, particularly with Merchandising and Marketing teams.
- Proven leadership capability, with experience motivating, developing, and setting high standards within a team.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Resilient and decisive, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Excel and experienced in using buying systems.
