Welcome to our Children and Young People’s service. We are excited to announce significant investment in our children and families service, focusing on more capacity, more prevention, and better outcomes.
We are seeking to expand our teams in response to the Families First Partnership Programme reforms, aiming to support children and their families at the earliest opportunity. We believe that safe, effective, and relationship-based practice relies on practitioners having the time, support, and professional space to do their best work with children.
About The Role:
North Yorkshire Council has a national reputation for excellence, and we are looking for a Specialist Social Worker. Our Children’s Services have been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted. As a Specialist Social Worker, you will be part of a small and committed team focused on child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, missing persons, and contextual safeguarding.
The role requires oversight and support for Children and Families staff and wider partners to consider innovative approaches to complex casework.
Requirements:
Specialist Social Workers are integral in developing relationships and working alongside multi-agency partners to ensure the right outcomes for children. You will have the opportunity to attend varied training in child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, missing persons, contextual safeguarding, and private fostering, furthering your own CPD while sharing learning within the wider workforce.
The specialist social work team is committed to working with children and their families/carers using solution-focused, strength-based relationship practice models, including Signs of Safety, Systemic theory, and the Family Finding approach.
We are looking for an individual who can help us continue to offer a unique service and truly make a difference to the young people of our county.
