About The Role

North Yorkshire Council has a national reputation for excellence and is pleased to offer the opportunity to join the highly acclaimed Children and Young People’s Service. This role is part of a significant investment in workforce capacity, expanding teams to support children and families at the earliest opportunity across the county.

Responsibilities

  • Working with families on a short‑term basis while completing assessments.
  • Managing longer‑term work such as Child and Family Plans and Child Protection Plans.
  • Executing pre‑proceedings work and issuing care proceedings where required.
  • Providing support to children and young people from birth to 18 and liaising with external agencies and partner teams.
  • Participating in regular group and individual supervisions, and engaging in county‑wide practice model sessions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Enhanced‑Level DBS Disclosure required for appointment.
  • Professional experience working with children, young people and their families.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other agencies and secure child protection plans.
  • Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills.
