An opportunity to join Calderdale’s much respected Specialist Inclusion Team, who support Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to access their education and to live full and aspirational lives. Calderdale’s SEND & Inclusion Team are part of the Borough’s Children and Young People’s Service and have a strong commitment to ensuring educational inclusion and best outcomes for every child / young person.

Have you got qualified experience to support autistic children and young people to successfully access education across the Early Years, Primary and Secondary phases? If you believe you can make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with Autism, then we would like to hear from you. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic person to join our established Autism Outreach Team in delivering to CYP (5-25yrs) across Calderdale.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of Autism and draw upon their prior knowledge and expertise to deliver appropriate specialist interventions through the direction of and close collaboration with their assigned Autism Outreach Teacher. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to developing professional relationships with children and young people with a range of complex needs, their families and multi‑agency professionals as they work together towards agreed outcomes.

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.

This role is based in the UK. Home Office guidance states that candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa. If you do not have the right to work in the UK, you must consider your own eligibility for sponsorship for a particular role through the Skilled Worker visa route before applying. To be eligible for sponsorship you'll usually need to be paid the standard salary rate of at least £41,700 per year (unless exceptions apply) and meet the other eligibility criteria.
