Temporary 4-6 months contract

Full Time, 37 hours per week

As a social worker, you will work within First Response’s multi‑agency team to support children in Rotherham. This role focuses on assessing and safeguarding children, coordinating with partners, and making evidence‑based decisions to improve outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments of new children and ongoing cases across the borough.
  • Participating in a 4‑week duty rota – one week on duty followed by three weeks to complete assessments and other duties.
  • Managing S47 investigations, initiating care proceedings, and carrying out pre‑birth assessments.
  • Conducting Legal gateway meetings following PLO processes.
  • Preparing accurate reports and communicating complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Co‑ordinating with the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), duty teams, Out of Hours, EVOLVE, and ENGAGE services.
