Our Children and Young People’s Service are currently recruiting a Child Exploitation Social Worker for Rotherham’s Evolve Service.

About the Evolve Social Work Service:

The Evolve Child Exploitation service works with young people and their families from across the borough of Rotherham. They also support our Looked After children and foster carers in placement to reduce and prevent Child Exploitation. This role involves helping young people understand the impact of the abuse they have suffered and identifying young victims of exploitation.

The team focus is:

  • Trauma-informed one to one support for vulnerable young people who have been groomed by groups for sexual exploitation.
  • Supporting young people throughout investigations.
  • Complex abuse queries and mapping intelligence to disrupt and reduce risk.
  • Developing phased care plans aimed at building life skills, teaching young people to recognise risk and manage their own safety within the community.
  • Safety planning.

This role would suit candidates with high levels of emotional resilience and self-awareness to deal with challenging behaviours given the nature of risks managed within a closely monitored and supervised environment.
