Role: Advanced Practitioner in the Children and Young People’s Service within Barnsley Children and Family Social Care.

Responsibilities:

  • Working alongside the Practice Development Hub to deliver the Social Work Academy offer, supporting and mentoring Newly Qualified Social Workers through their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment.
  • Working alongside the team manager to drive best practice and support learning and development within the team.
  • A manageable reduced caseload.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified social worker with a Social Work Qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Self‑motivated and innovative in intervention with families.
  • Experience of working in statutory children’s social work, including child protection and court arena.
  • Committed to supporting and developing teams and workers, with experience of mentoring students, NQSWs or colleagues.
