Hours: 37 hours per week (working within core hours between 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday)

We are looking for a practical, proactive and reliable Maintenance Assistant to join our friendly team at Little Bridge House. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-functioning environment for children and babies with life-limiting conditions and their families.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the hospice, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and basic electrical work.
  • Support the planned preventative maintenance programme, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist with the upkeep of buildings, equipment, utilities, vehicles and grounds.
  • Perform routine safety checks, including fire alarms and equipment testing.
  • Help maintain specialist facilities such as the spa/Jacuzzi and external play equipment.
  • Support contractors on site and step in when required in the absence of the Site Manager.
  • Undertake occasional driving duties, including transporting supplies or equipment.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations.
