The Home Visitor is a critical member of the Early Head Start team, providing comprehensive home-visiting services within a strength-based, family-centered model to expectant parents and families with young children. As a Home Visitor, you will assess the strengths and needs of children and families, partner with parents to establish family and child development goals, and support families in expanding their support systems. You will provide observations of parent-child interactions, including assessing for effective communication and empathic responses, and engage parents in reflective dialogue on the developing parent-child relationship. Home Visitors will collaborate with other Early Head Start program staff, including Family Support Specialists, to link families with appropriate referrals and community supports.
Candidate Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field OR Home Visiting Child Development Associate (CDA) required.
- Two years relevant college coursework experience, or equivalent combination strongly preferred for candidates without a conferred degree.
- You are at least 19 years old per state and federal guidelines.
- The ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish required.
- Experience working with children and families preferred.
- Ability to attend in-person family visits and meetings required.
- Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.
- Candidates without the required degree/credentials may be considered with an approved educational plan.
Compensation: Salary range is between $24.00/hr-$26.00; offers are commensurate with experience and bilingual candidates may receive additional financial compensation. The salary range provided represents our current estimate for this role at the time of posting and is subject to change. The final salary will be determined based on a range of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's relevant experience, education, qualifications, skills, certifications, and alignment with organizational needs. We are dedicated to fair and equitable compensation practices and are committed to fostering a diverse workforce while providing equal opportunities for all candidates.
Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, three scheduled weeks of paid time off per year (Spring, Summer, Winter), and additional flexible paid leave that accrues based on tenure; 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match.
Location: Hybrid (remote/in office); provides in-home services to families in the Englewood community and have flexibility to support families in other locations.
Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours with some flexibility required for evening family visits and special projects. Occasional weekend hours for recruitment events.
