This is an exciting opportunity to join our legal team as a Volunteer Lawyer. This role is ideal for a solicitor or barrister who is eager to contribute their expertise to assist our in-house legal team in the UK. You will play a crucial role in supporting a wide range of legal activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing high-quality legal support. We are seeking applicants with experience in transactional commercial and contract law.

About the Role:

  • Assisting with reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, funding agreements, partnership agreements, memorandums of understanding and other corporate documents.
  • Identifying and providing commercial solutions to problems.
  • Reviewing, commenting and drafting commercial agreements with minimal supervision.
  • Liaising with external legal professionals and other stakeholders as required.
  • Supporting the team and organisation in managing legal risks and compliance, including maintaining records and ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • Attending and supporting meetings, including taking notes or drafting follow-up actions as needed.
  • Supporting teams across the organisation with legal queries and liaising with internal colleagues in a professional, respectful and timely manner.

Skills Required:

  • Qualified solicitor, barrister, legal executive, or equivalent experience in the UK.
  • Strong knowledge of UK legal systems and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools and legal research platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively along with team working.
  • Comfortable working independently on matters at short notice and in accordance with tight timeframes.

Commitment:

A minimum commitment of 5 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate additional hours when required. This role may involve a mix of remote and in-person activities depending on organisational needs.
