This position will lead the implementation of Children with Cancer UK’s Corporate strategy with a dual focus of executing a New Business roadmap and framework for our programme of high-value, multi-year partnerships. You will work across both sub departments - developing and deliver account plans for each partner. You will identify opportunities to secure introductions and income through the existing portfolio, and develop new business opportunities of approximately £10k and above. Additionally, you will ensure that personal and team KPIs are met to achieve account management targets. The role includes setting and monitoring annual budget activity plans, with support and guidance from the your two line reports and the Head of Philanthropy.

What began as a small memorial charity in 1988, has evolved into a major force raising more than £300 million and investing in over 200 research projects to help fight the injustice of cancer in children.
Main Responsibilities
Ownership of Children with Cancer UK’s corporate strategy. From creation with the Head Philanthropy and wider Corporate Partnership team to the implementation and evolution of that strategy.
Accountable for delivering recruitment and income KPI and ROI targets and reviewing progress on a monthly and quarterly basis.
New Business
In partnership with the New Business Executive, enhance and evolve Children with Cancer UK’s proactive corporate prospecting strategy. This includes fostering improved collaboration with the leadership team and trustees to increase the sustainability, value, and diversity of partnerships secured by Children with Cancer UK.
Account Management
In collaboration with the Account Executive- develop and instigate stewardship plans for partners taking a synergistic approach and balancing impact across opportunities.
Duties and tasks to fulfil the key responsibilities
- Line management of one New Business Executive and one Account Executive
- Lead and support the creation of new partnership agreements with companies, ensuring that both parties’ expectations are met, Children with Cancer UK’s interests are protected, and risks are mitigated
- Manage a range of high value corporate partners to deliver in line with partnership’s objectives
- Seek opportunities to develop and grow each partnership.
- Deliver relevant KPI and set agreements between each partnership.
- Deliver agreed income and expenditure targets
- Deliver planned partnership activity, communication and reporting.
- Support the New Business Executive via direction of pitches and areas of new business opportunities.
- To work collaboratively across departments and support other internal teams to ensure partnership objectives are achieved.
- Collaborate with other fundraising revenue streams to enhance supporter experience.
- To represent the charity at partner meetings, presentations and events.
- Ensure charity safeguarding practices and policies are followed at all times to ensure the safety of volunteers, team members and supporting families.
Team management
- To effectively line manage and carry out regular one to ones and half yearly performance appraisals.
- Oversee the management and support of the wider Corporate Partnership team.
- To ensure the teams have development plans and attend training as necessary.
- To recruit and induct new starters into the charity when necessary.
- To play an active role in the Children with Cancer UK management team.
- To contribute to a positive working environment and culture.
- To encourage team to innovate and use data and insight where applicable.
- Alongside the Head of Philanthropy set the departmental strategy.
- To direct the Corporate Partnership team to deliver the departmental strategy.
Budget
Responsible for the departmental yearly income and expenditure budget. Analyse monthly income and expenditure against budgets. Providing commentary, identifying problems and agreeing remedial steps.
Additional Responsibilities
Any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager. The post requires an amount of evening and weekend work and the post holder is expected to attend events as and when required – throughout the UK. The charity operates a time off in lieu system to make this time up which your line manager will need to approve.
Experience
- Track record of Corporate Fundraising or experience gained in a relevant field.
- Excellent relationship building skills and an ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience of dynamic relationship stewardship that enables a core experience that enables bespoke opportunities within each partnership.
- Knowledge of a pipeline approach that enables a core structure to develop bespoke opportunities within each potential partnership.
- Excellent project management and time management skills.
- Strong networking and relationship building skills.
- Experience working on multiple projects with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
- Experience of delivering community/events fundraising events/campaigns.
- Experience of managing and cultivating partnerships and meeting KPIs.

- Demonstrable success in growing fundraising income.
- Excellent relationship building skills and an ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to comprehend and convey information to diverse audiences, and to package various aspects of Children with Cancer UK’s work into compelling propositions, both in written and verbal formats.
- Understanding of the UK fundraising sector, trends and working within the FRSB rules and guidance.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage and take responsibility for own workload
- Ability to prioritise and handle multiple priorities independently and as part of a team
- Excellent, oral and written communications including proposals, reports and pitches. Experience of working with digital platforms to recruit and maintain relationships with supporters.
