Within our Communities Team in Children North East we have a new and exciting opportunity for a part time Youth Project Worker to support the delivery of the CAN Mentoring programme and provide 1-1 mentoring support for young people who have multiple or complex needs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing young people support through 1-1 sessions that will help them to meet their personal goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of 1-1 work in Gateshead and Newcastle.
  • Mentoring sessions are typically delivered between 3 - 7pm; the ability and willingness to travel to different locations and work in the evenings is essential for this role.
  • Use a trauma informed, relational, inclusive, young person led approach to work collaboratively with the young person to understand them, create safety and utilise the existing Children North East mentoring model to work in a solution focused, goal orientated, facilitative way.

Working pattern

A normal working week is 25 hours for this post which is part-time against full-time hours of 37. Due to the varied nature of the duties, a flexible approach will be required and will include evenings.

Salary

The salary is £24,843 to £27,369 pro-rated for 25 hours per week.

  • Ability to work in a trauma informed, relational, inclusive, young person led way.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to different locations and work in the evenings.
