We're looking for Level 3 Early Years Educators to join us as Bank Staff. Flexible days and hours to suit all schedules, confirming availability 2-weeks in advance. Own transport is not essential but you do have to be able to travel to at least 3 nurseries within the Cherubs Nurseries group.
As Supply Early Years Educator, you will apply your in-depth knowledge and early years’ experience to cover staff shortages such as sickness, holidays and maternity/paternity leave as a set group of Cherubs Nurseries. Qualified to at least Level 3 in Childcare you will be confident in your ability to deliver high-quality childcare, form quick but effective bonds with children, parents and staff and have a “can do” and outgoing attitude which will allow you to seamlessly integrate with any nursery team and ensure our high standards are maintained in all areas of your nursery setting. You must be flexible in your working pattern, hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel between a cluster of our nurseries.

Description of Duties- Deliver an amazing service, for both our children and families.
- Work as part of the Childcare Team to provide an amazing service, for both our children and families.
- Ensure the children’s environment and your nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times ensuring safeguarding policies are adhered to.
- Be a role model for the children at all times, whilst demonstrating best practice to your colleagues.
- Ensure all toys, equipment and furniture is kept clean and in good working order, sterilising toys when necessary or required by policy.
- Assist in the supervision of meal times, ensuring this remains a learning opportunity for the children where positive eating practices are learnt and developed.
- Give parents and carers a warm welcome and concise handover at the end of the day.
- Ensure you are up to date and compliant with all Cherubs Nurseries policies and procedures.
- Take ownership in everything, always being honest and transparent.
- Ensure paperwork is completed correctly, accurately and on-time.
- Complete Blossom for key children in the absence of their key person, ensuring you meet targets and provide detailed and relevant accounts for each child, underpinned by the EYFS.
- Take pride in the rooms and nursery, ensuring they are presented well with organised resources, engaging displays with an inviting layout.
- Commit to continuous improvement, always strive to be and do the best.
- Present yourself in a professional manner at all times, always “dressed for service”.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times both inside and outside of the workplace.
- Attend both in-house and external training, as required. Some of this may be outside of working hours, for example on a weekend.
- Complete all PLA training that is relevant to your role, ensuring this is completed within 7-days of issue.
- Embrace creativity and innovation – these are what keep our service fresh unique and inspiring.
- Assist in the thorough planning and successful delivery of a variety of activities (both indoor and outdoor) to maintain the children’s interests and to ensure the development of all children in-line with their own needs.
- Build a positive and progressive team environment where everyone is united and able to shine.
- Work under the direction of the Nursery Manager, Assistant Nursery Manager and Senior Early Years Educators – absorbing their knowledge and experience to enhance your own.
- Ensure any information you receive is shared with the relevant people and in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain friendly but professional relationships with all parents, staff and suppliers.
- Attend all staff events including parents evening, staff meetings and summer fairs, some of these may be out of hours and on weekends.
- Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of your duties.
- Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent).
- GCSE Level Pass (4 or above) in both English and Maths.
- At least 2.5 years’ experience working in a childcare setting.
