Relief Nursery Practitioner – Grasshoppers Day Nursery, St Albans (AL1 4PL). Permanent contract, 0 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Working pattern: varied, ad-hoc shifts Monday-Friday between 07:30-18:30. Salary: £12.87–£14.33 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Provide care for babies and children up to five years old, ensuring a friendly, safe environment.
- Plan and implement engaging activities aligned with EYFS to support children’s learning through play and exploration.
- Contribute to child observation records and support learning journeys.
- Advocate for safeguarding, ensuring every child feels safe, valued and happy.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents and children, maintaining strong and positive relationships.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience caring for babies and children aged five and under, preferably in an early-years setting.
- DfE-approved early-years qualification at Level 2 or above is advantageous but not essential.
- Solid knowledge of child development and EYFS practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with children, parents and staff.
- Right to work in the UK and suitable for a DBS check; VISA sponsorship is not available.
- Applicants must reside within a commutable distance of the nursery.
