The role offers a clear path for growth and development, with the opportunity to contribute and work on a variety of complex and challenging technical assignments working collaboratively as part of a wider team of experts across the firm.

What you will do:

  • Responsibility for a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of the compliance process and associated administration – workflows, WIP and billing.
  • Income tax return preparation and computation of tax liabilities.
  • Preparation of capital gains tax computations.
  • Preparation of partnership tax returns and returns for trusts.
  • Supervising and reviewing junior staff in more routine compliance work.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc advisory projects, with a view to further development of these skills over time.
  • Drafting letters to clients, HM Revenue & Customs and third parties.
  • Telephone communication with HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties.
  • Involvement in client meetings.

Your profile - Who are we looking for:

  • At least 2 years’ experience within a tax department.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical competence across private client tax and/or unincorporated businesses.
  • A drive to increase tax-technical knowledge base across all areas of traditional private client, trusts and estates and unincorporated businesses.
  • A good level of numeracy, written skills and attention to detail.
  • A passion for client care and a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
  • A sound understanding of the key commercial drivers of the business.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues.
  • Interest in career development/progression.
  • ATT, or equivalent, is desirable and an ambition to complete CTA would also be preferred.
