We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of diesel-powered equipment. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly tasks as needed for repairs or modifications
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to complete repair tasks efficiently
- Repair and maintain heavy machinery including excavators, forklifts, and other industrial equipment
- Read and interpret technical schematics to troubleshoot complex systems
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies
- Assist with equipment upgrades or modifications to improve performance or safety standards
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used
Experience
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role within heavy machinery maintenance
- Strong background in fabrication, welding, soldering, electrical systems, and schematics interpretation
- Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and industrial equipment
- Experience working with excavators, forklifts, or similar heavy machinery is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for repair purposes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a demanding environment
- Excellent customer service skills when liaising with clients or internal teams regarding repairs or maintenance needs
