We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in the detail and isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up. As a member of the Maintenance team, you'll be working across our places, carrying out planned maintenance, fixing the day-to-day issues that inevitably crop up, and helping with larger refurbishment projects when needed. We spend a lot of time bringing well-loved places back to life, and just as much time making sure they stay that way. Ideally, you'll have experience in general maintenance, building, carpentry, decorating, plumbing or a similar trade. You'll need a full UK driving licence and be happy travelling between our pubs.

Our mission – At Chickpea, we're reimagining rural hospitality. That means bringing well-loved pubs back to life, serving honest food and decent booze, and creating places where locals, regulars and visitors all feel at home. We're founder-owned and seven years in. Today, we run ten pubs across the Southwest, but the idea hasn't changed much since day one. Great pubs are built by great people. We're lucky to work with a brilliant bunch already, and we're always looking for more.

The good stuff –

  • You eat from the menu if you work six hours.
  • Enjoy 50% off food at any of our pubs (Monday-Thursday).
  • We host the Annual Chickpea Awards Bash, to celebrate our teams.
  • £100 voucher on your Birthday to spend at any of our places.
  • Each month there are rewards and giveaways.
  • We mark length of service.
  • Team trips and away days.
  • 24/7 support available for your mental, physical and financial health.
  • Training programmes built around you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across our places.
  • Completing general repairs including basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry and joinery.
  • Responding quickly to day-to-day maintenance issues to keep our pubs running smoothly.
  • Supporting refurbishment projects and helping prepare new openings.
  • Maintaining outside spaces, including gardens, pathways and fencing.
  • Carrying out routine safety checks and preventative maintenance.
  • Travelling between our pubs across Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire.
  • Taking pride in the detail to ensure every pub looks its best for our guests.

What we're looking for:

  • A practical, hands-on person who enjoys fixing problems.
  • Experience in general maintenance, property maintenance or a trade such as carpentry, plumbing or decorating.
  • Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly, even when it's the small things.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in wherever needed.
  • A full UK driving licence.
