Worthing and Northbrook College, part of the Chichester College Group, is seeking a Pastoral Support Manager to join our team across Worthing and Northbrook campuses. This role leads and develops the pastoral provision to support student attendance, retention, achievement, and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Managing pastoral teams to deliver an excellent student‑centred service.
- Ensuring a strong focus on attendance, retention and achievement, with effective monitoring and intervention.
- Managing staff, resources and data effectively.
- Supporting the implementation of the Positive Behaviour Management policy.
- Developing collaborative relationships with curriculum teams, parents, carers and external agencies.
- Championing equality, diversity, inclusion, safeguarding and learner wellbeing.
- Contributing to training, development and a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working within Further Education or a similar setting with significant direct student contact.
- Proven track record of leading teams.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to set and monitor SMART targets.
- Comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Educated to at least A-Level (or equivalent) with broad knowledge of learner support services, inclusive learning and relevant legislation (safeguarding, equality and disability).
- Relevant qualifications in coaching, mental health or managing challenging behaviour are desirable.
- Proactive, flexible and genuinely committed to supporting students to achieve their full potential.
