We are looking for a Childcare Officer to work at our First Steps Nursery based at Chichester College. Working with young babies through to children ready to start school, you will share your love for learning and make a real difference in children’s development and learning journeys. Together with our dedicated team, you will help ensure the children are learning, socialising, exploring and having fun.
Responsibilities- Support children ranging from infants to school‑ready children in their daily activities and learning experiences.
- Encourage socialisation and exploration.
- Work with the team to plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Childhood Studies (or equivalent).
- Previous experience of working in a childcare setting.
- Flexible, enthusiastic and organised.
- First Aid certificate desirable but not essential.
- Highly competitive salary.
- Above statutory annual leave entitlement, with closure days over the Christmas period not deducted.

This role is for a fixed‑term period of maternity cover for a maximum of one year, or until the return, resignation or replacement of the current post holder, whichever is sooner. All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
