Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Student Wellbeing Officer at our Chichester College. You will join us on a Full-time (37 hours per week, 36 weeks per year), permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary pro rata of £26,716 to £29,196 per annum (i.e. £22,194.83 – £24,255.14). The Student Wellbeing Officer role: As a Student Wellbeing Officer, you will provide support to students with a range of health and wellbeing needs; assist on the delivery of the Mental Health Strategy and be a member of the Safeguarding Team, which includes being duty officer on a rota basis. Key Responsibilities of our Student Wellbeing Officer: Providing 1 to 1 and small group support to a caseload of students with a range of mental health, physical health and social wellbeing needs. Assisting in the delivery of the Group’s Mental Health Strategy, arranging a series of events and opportunities for students in response to changing local and national wellbeing priorities. Assisting in the delivery of communications to students on wellbeing and wellbeing issues. To be a member of the College’s Safeguarding Team including being duty officer on a rota basis and take the lead in supporting an allocation of students with safeguarding needs. Preparing for the arrival of new students with additional support needs, attending transition meetings with partner schools and to support college events such as Open Evenings. Working with the Safeguarding Manager in ensuring the handover of child protection information from feeder schools. Acting as an advocate for students with wellbeing needs. Developing and maintain appropriate relationships with external agencies and networks. To work in partnership with Pastoral Support Tutor Team and Curriculum Teams to ensure students are appropriately supported. Our ideal Student Wellbeing Officer should have the below skills and experience: Education to GCSE standard; grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), specifically including Maths and English L3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint and IT/Keyboard skills, including the use of email Experience providing support to young people with mental health difficulties Understanding of equal opportunities & safety issues and risk assessments The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, at all ages and levels Closing date: 10 February 2025 Interview date: 25 February 2025 You will be asked to upload a CV before starting an application form for this role.
