Brighton MET College is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our Estates & Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, motivated individual to play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the college estate.
  • General building maintenance, basic repairs and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the campus.
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies alongside making routine inspections and health and safety checks.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the Estates team and liaising with contractors where required.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role and good practical skills across a range of trades (e.g. basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating).
  • A proactive, flexible approach to work with a strong awareness of health and safety practices.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
