Brinsbury College, part of the Chichester College Group, have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Lecturer in Groundworks and Highways Maintenance at our Brinsbury College campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis. In return, we will offer a competitive salary of £27,785 - £43,325 per annum. 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with experience in groundworks and highways maintenance to join our new construction provision at Brinsbury Campus, playing a key role in shaping and delivering high-quality teaching and learning from the outset. Working as part of a developing and supportive teaching team, the post holder will deliver practical and theoretical learning across construction-related programmes, with a particular emphasis on groundworks and highways. You will use your industry expertise to design and deliver engaging learning that equips students with the technical skills, knowledge and behaviours required for progression into employment or further training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.

Our ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:

  • Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject.
  • Level 2 literacy and numeracy.
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet targets and deadlines.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing.
