Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Mentor at our Brinsbury Campus. You will join us on a full time, term time only (37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year), permanent basis and in return, we will offer a competitive salary of £24,791 to £25,935, pro rata, per annum (i.e. £22,502.60 - £23,541).

As our Learning Mentor, you will provide students with a high level of mentoring support – providing them with the support and guidance to enable them to achieve their programme of study and transition pathways. You will motivate our learners and monitor their progress and play a key role in their student journey.

Our Learning Mentor will be a confident, enthusiastic communicator and have experience of working with and supporting a diverse range of young people. You will be passionate about inspiring and motivating our learners to help them progress in education and be successful post 16. You will have experience of supporting learners with challenging behaviour to re-engage with education.
Key Responsibilities of our Learning Mentor:- To motivate the individual learner and to monitor his/her progress in; and response to; their learning; encouraging personal evaluation; reflection and target setting; using value added to measure progression.
- To rigorously track and monitor the attendance of each student within a cohort of tutees and; where necessary; take appropriate action to rectify poor individual performance. This will/may include sustained liaison with the student.
- To liaise with subject teachers; course leaders and Curriculum Team Managers on issues; working in accordance to the Student Referral Policy where appropriate.
- To play a key role within the 'student journey' process and positive outcomes.
- Experience of supporting young people with Additional Needs
- Experience of delivering learning advice to students in a 1:1 or group situation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; including Word and Powerpoint
- A level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
- Mentoring and coaching skills
- The ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels; verbally and in writing
