Brighton MET College is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our Estates & Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, motivated individual to play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Carry out a wide range of planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the college estate.
- General building maintenance, basic repairs and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the campus.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies; conduct routine inspections and health and safety checks.
- Work closely with colleagues across the Estates team and liaise with contractors where required to ensure facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
- Good practical skills across a range of trades (e.g. basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating).
- Proactive, flexible approach to work with a strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
