Are you a charismatic, determined and confident person who has the ability and skills to engage hard to reach groups and disengaged students as well as to develop and co‑ordinate activities that promote social cohesion and integration? As our College Community Support Officer, you will provide the first response to incidents across the College site, assist Managers or appropriate College staff to adopt a collaborative problem‑solving approach to highlighted issues and to implement de‑escalation techniques and restorative justice. You will act as Safeguarding Officer for assigned cases (in liaison with the Safeguarding team), gathering evidence in relation to incidents and disclosures as per the Safeguarding policy.

It is essential that you hold GCSE maths and English Language, or equivalent, at grade 4/C or above as well as have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area, e.g. Coaching, Health and Social Care, Youth Work. Experience of working with young people (including 14‑19‑year‑olds) and vulnerable adults and those with challenging behaviour is also essential, along with knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults including Prevent and the Equality Act 2010.
