Northbrook College, part of the Chichester College Group, is seeking a College Community Support Officer. The role offers a pro rata salary of £27,785 to £30,364 per annum (i.e. £23,082.92 - £25,225.47) for 37 hours per week, 36 weeks per year.

As our College Community Support Officer, you will:

  • Provide the first response to incidents across the College site.
  • Assist Managers or appropriate College staff in adopting a collaborative problem-solving approach to highlighted issues.
  • Implement de-escalation techniques and restorative justice.
  • Act as Safeguarding Officer for assigned cases, gathering evidence in relation to incidents and disclosures as per the Safeguarding policy.

It is essential that you hold GCSE maths and English Language, or equivalent, at grade 4/C or above, as well as a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area, e.g. Coaching, Health and Social Care, Youth Work. Experience of working with young people (including 16- to 19-year-olds) and vulnerable adults, as well as knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults, including Prevent and the Equality Act 2010, is also essential.
