Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Learning Assistant on a fixed term contract until 30 June 2026. In return, we will offer a competitive salary of pro rata of Β£25,582 per annum.

As a Learning Assistant, you will support students requiring additional help with their programmes of study across various areas within College, creating positive relationships with them and assisting them in a classroom or workshop setting. This will include students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, including emotional, social, behavioural and mobility needs. The work you do will ensure our students have a rewarding and fulfilling experience at college.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will have:

  • Experience of working with people with learning difficulties and disabilities
  • Effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • A GCSE (or equivalent) in English at grade C/4 or above

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the learning and emotional/social/behavioural needs of students receiving additional support, in accordance with College policies.
  • Providing support for personal care where necessary, including administering medication.
  • Assisting the Head of SEND and Additional Learning Support, Learning Support Managers and Lecturers in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials/resources.
  • Taking part in and ensuring the smooth and effective administration of the provision.
  • Creating and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting in the assessment of student needs.
  • Continually reviewing the students' support needs.
  • Attending team and all other meetings regarding both student and curriculum development.
