Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an Administrative Assistant at our Chichester campus. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis, and in return, we will offer a competitive salary pro rata of £24,405 - £24,502 per annum (i.e. £11,872.70 - £11,919.89).

The Administrative Assistant role: Are you looking for that ideal, part time administrative role? As our Administrative Assistant, you will support our Adult and Community Learning programmes and undertake a range of administrative duties to support the work of the Adult and Community Learning curriculum team and the delivery of cross college initiatives. Specifics around the working pattern will be discussed at the interview, and we will be as flexible as possible to meet your needs.

As our Administrative Assistant, you will administer enquiries from staff, students, members of the public and external organisations as appropriate, maintaining excellent customer service at all times. With proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook you will be required to produce regular reports from college systems and databases, and support the Adult Skills area in the production of accurate and timely reports.

Key Responsibilities of our Administrative Assistant:
  • Providing an efficient and effective administrative service, dealing with enquiries from staff, students and key stakeholders.
  • Providing effective support services to staff and students within the area, maintaining excellent customer service at all times.
  • Updating and maintaining diaries and calendars, databases, records and reports.
  • Liaising with staff and external organisations, as appropriate.
  • Preparing documentation and correspondence to support the core business and administration of the area and ensure that information is sent out in a timely manner.
  • Providing effective administrative support for the successful implementation of curriculum and cross College initiatives.
  • Providing support when necessary to ensure that area and cross College events, such as Information Days, run smoothly.
Our ideal Administrative Assistant should have the below skills and experience:
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
  • Experience working within an administrative role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • The ability to communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing.
  • An aptitude for handling large amounts of data and paperwork.
