A lovely client of ours is looking for an experienced and highly proactive Housekeeper to look after their newly refurbished home in Notting Hill. The family consists of two parents and two teenage children (aged 14 and 16). Although they have dogs, the dogs will not be at the London property. The household is informal and relaxed, but they take great pride in having their home presented and maintained to the highest standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Confidently manage all aspects of housekeeping to an exceptional standard, with excellent attention to detail.
- Carry out daily and deep cleaning tasks, ensuring all areas of the house are always tidy and presentable.
- Make beds, clean bathrooms, and maintain all rooms to a high standard.
- Manage all laundry and ironing for the family.
- Run household errands as needed.
- Maintain and update an inventory of the pantry, ensuring it remains well-stocked and organised.
- Assist with light cooking duties and food preparation, although this is a minimal part of the role.
- Oversee the security of the property, ensuring doors, windows, and alarms are checked and the house remains safe and secure at all times.
- Oversee contractors or tradespeople, managing access to the property and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
About You
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work confidently on your own initiative.
- Previous experience working in a private household is essential.
- Able to maintain the high standards of a beautifully cared-for home without supervision.
- Practical, resourceful, and able to manage your time and duties independently.
- Warm, discreet, and well-mannered, with a calm and flexible approach.
- Reliable, resilient, and adaptable to the daily requirements of the household.
- Comfortable around children.
- A good level of common sense, initiative, and trustworthiness is essential for this role.
Role Details
- Nearest Stations: Notting Hill or Westbourne Park
- Property: 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom house over 5 floors
- Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-2pm + flexibility for additional hours when the family is in residence or entertaining guests
- Salary: £20-£25 gross per hour, depending on experience
- Start Date: ASAP – 6-week booking with potential to become permanent for the right candidate
- Additional Info: The principals\’ main residence is in Oxfordshire. They have just purchased a property in Kensington where they will stay 1-2 days per week.
- This is a temp to perm opportunity.
