Come and join the 'Team of the Year'! The Surgical Centre team won the 2025 'Better Together Award' at Mid Cheshire Trust's Because You Matter Awards in October 2025. We are now looking for a qualified practitioner (band 5 nurse / ODP) to join our scrub or anaesthetics teams who will be working out of the state‑of‑the‑art Surgical Centre that opened at Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, Cheshire in May 2025. This is an excellent time to join Mid Cheshire Hospitals as we have just started work on our Healthier Futures programme, developing services for the people of Cheshire well into the future, including a brand‑new hospital at our Leighton site.
The new Surgical Centre comprises 2 new theatres and an Ophthalmic injection room. The department undertakes a range of procedures under local anaesthetic including Ophthalmic, ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Pain & Orthopaedics. As we are looking to expand the services and procedures offered at the Surgical Centre, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team. The Theatre Management team is committed to patient safety, conducts regular Human Factors training, and provides the development and training needed to progress in careers.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides comprehensive hospital and community services for East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K). Our services include planned and unplanned/emergency care, cardiac and critical care, child health, maternity, and intermediate care across Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford. The Cheshire and Merseyside Surgical Centre at Victoria Infirmary – opened in spring 2025 – aims to treat around 12,000 patients each year. It will be a cataract centre of excellence, reducing waiting times and improving patient care.
