Chiawood Limited is a small independent business in South Wales specialising in creating bespoke furniture from design to installation. Working in domestic and commercial properties, we create high-end pieces including wardrobes, understair storage, media walls and kitchens. We are recruiting an experienced carpenter to join our team.

You will be expected to:

  • Have 5 years of experience in carpentry within a similar role (such as kitchen or wardrobe fitting)
  • Have excellent attention to detail, a high standard of quality workmanship and the ability to problem-solve
  • Be able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and designs
  • Work with MDF, veneer, and other materials
  • Be skilled in joinery techniques and finishing methods as well as using woodworking tools and power tools
  • Full UK driving licence and the ability to drive a long wheel-based van
  • Be prepared to commute from the CF14 area
  • Flexible to occasionally travel to work elsewhere within the UK, including overnight stays (most jobs are within the South Wales area)
  • Be reliable and efficient - working to tight deadlines
  • Have good customer service skills, maintaining professionalism and integrity in high-pressure environments in domestic and commercial sites
  • Develop new skills and methodologies and contribute to the growth of the company
  • Occasionally work as part of an event setup/de-rig team
