This dedicated in-house macroeconomic team at a top-tier global professional services firm is expanding its footprint. They are seeking an accomplished Senior European Economist to lead and establish its institutional-grade coverage of European and UK economies.
Operating from a world-class global platform, you will work directly alongside the Chief Economist to publish high-impact thought leadership, engage with the global media, and advise C-suite executives on critical macroeconomic risks, fiscal policy shifts, and geopolitical trends.

Principal Responsibilities
- Lead European Strategy: Own and execute the macroeconomic research priorities for the European and UK markets, seamlessly integrating these perspectives into the firm’s global macroeconomic outlook.
- Thought Leadership & Advisory: Translate complex quantitative macro data into clear, visually compelling, and actionable insights. Author regular and ad-hoc flagship publications and commentary.
- Advanced Scenario Modelling: Independently design, build, and refine sophisticated macroeconomic models and stress-test scenarios to help businesses navigate European policy changes and risks.
- Data Innovation: Leverage advanced quantitative analysis using core databases (Haver, Bloomberg, Macrobond) to develop proprietary indicators and unique structural perspectives.
What You'll Bring
- An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Economics from a top-tier global institution.
- Substantial experience in a macroeconomic research, strategy, or advisory capacity within an investment bank, elite asset manager, top think tank, or multilateral policy institution (e.g., Central Bank).
- Deep technical mastery of the Eurozone and UK economic landscapes, including monetary policy, fiscal frameworks, and structural growth modelling.
- Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of authoring high-profile thought leadership and presenting complex ideas confidently to senior stakeholders and global media.
Total Compensation Package: £310,000+ First-Year OTE
- Base Salary: £150,000 - £200,000 plus sign-on bonus
- Individual Performance Bonus: Up to 45%
- Company Performance Bonus: Up to 20%
