We are partnering with a leading economics and advisory firm seeking an experienced Energy Economist to join its growing London team at Director level. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior economist with expertise across areas such as energy regulation, disputes and litigation support, sustainability, market design, policy, infrastructure and the energy transition. As Director, you will lead the delivery of high-profile economic and strategic advisory projects across the energy sector. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing project teams and contributing to the growth of the practice through business development and thought leadership.

You will work closely with senior leadership to identify new opportunities, expand existing client relationships and help shape the firm's market presence across the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading complex energy economics engagements from inception through to delivery
  • Managing and developing client relationships with utilities, investors, regulators, law firms and government bodies
  • Providing economic advice across areas including regulation, disputes, sustainability, market design and energy transition
  • Supporting business development activities and contributing to revenue growth
  • Leading, mentoring and developing junior and mid-level economists
  • Contributing to the strategic growth and direction of the wider practice
Required Experience
  • MSc or PhD in Economics or a related discipline
  • Significant experience within energy economics, economic consulting or a related advisory environment
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: regulation, disputes and litigation support, sustainability, energy markets, infrastructure, policy or energy transition
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams and developing junior talent
  • Strong client management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business growth
  • An existing professional network within the energy sector would be advantageous
