We’re working with a boutique economics consultancy that specialises in regeneration, innovation, and public value, the team in Manchester is now expanding. Passionate about helping places thrive, this firm works with local authorities, national bodies, and private sector partners to shape economic strategy, unlock investment, and deliver meaningful impact.
As they continue to grow, they’re looking for a Senior or Principal Consultant to lead on evaluation, business case development, and strategic advisory projects. If you\’re seeking a purpose-led role with influence, variety, and strong career development, this could be your next step.
Role
You’ll take the lead on projects that help clients understand, evaluate, and strengthen their strategies for growth and investment. Working closely with colleagues across offices, you’ll contribute to high-profile work that supports place-making, infrastructure delivery, and inclusive development.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role with plenty of opportunity to shape project approaches, mentor junior team members, and support the firm’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- You’ll work on a wide range of projects across socioeconomics and regeneration, such as:
- Building robust business cases for private sector clients
- Delivering impact assessments for local authorities
- Supporting funding bids and investment strategies
- Conducting cost-benefit analyses and social impact studies
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring high-quality project delivery
- Applying HMT Green Book and Magenta Book guidance
- Managing client relationships and stakeholder engagement
- Supporting junior team development and contributing to proposals and business growth
Key Skills
- Proven experience in analytical roles within economic or engineering consultancy settings, with a strong focus on economic impact analysis, business case development, and evaluation
- You’ll bring experience in public or private sector economics, particularly in infrastructure and regeneration, social impact analysis, and applying HMT Green Book and Magenta Book guidance
- Strong project management and communication skills
