Senior Consultant (Economics Chemicals & Regulation) - UK (flexible) - Competitive Salary

Role:
Senior or Experienced Economist with a strong background in regulatory and socio-economic analysis to join their Chemicals division. The successful candidate will support companies, industry associations and public bodies in understanding the economic impacts of regulatory change, particularly across REACH Authorisation, Restriction and wider regulatory strategy. The role offers flexibility on location (Norwich, London or UK-wide remote).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or contribute to Socio-Economic Analysis (SEA) supporting REACH Authorisation and Restriction processes
- Assess economic, social and distributional impacts of regulatory change across sectors and supply chains
- Apply economic frameworks to evaluate costs, benefits and wider impacts of regulatory options
- Support the development of Analysis of Alternatives, including economic feasibility and substitution considerations
- Analyse complex qualitative and quantitative datasets
- Design and deliver evidence-gathering approaches, including stakeholder engagement, surveys and interviews
- Draft clear, structured and regulator-ready technical reports
- Present findings to clients and stakeholders
- Manage analytical workstreams within consultancy projects
- Contribute to proposal and business development activities
- Support mentoring and development of junior colleagues
Key Skills:
Essential:
- Significant professional experience in economic analysis of regulation, policy or markets
- Strong experience in socio-economic analysis and impact assessment
- Experience applying economic analysis in regulated sectors, environmental policy or industrial contexts
- Ability to assess impacts across sectors, supply chains and stakeholders
- Experience contributing to proposals or project development
Beneficial:
