Economist (Manager) – salary up to £70,000 (dependant on experience) – London, United kingdom

Role
This senior role combines hands-on project leadership with strategic input across the business. You'll manage multiple projects, overseeing research design and delivery while guiding a team of economists and analysts.
With a strong grounding in both quantitative and qualitative economic methods, you’ll ensure high-quality outputs and lead work that informs real-world decisions. You’ll also contribute to business growth—shaping proposals, building client relationships, and identifying new opportunities. As part of the leadership team, you’ll mentor junior colleagues and help foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
Key Skills
Essential:
- Proven experience experience in consultancy, government, or similar project-based roles
- Proven track record in leading teams and delivering high-quality projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Experience managing clients and stakeholder engagement
- Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong qualitative analysis skills, even with limited data
Good to have:
- Knowledge or experience in the space sector
- Background in economics (degree or professional role)
- Familiarity with economic modelling and public sector business cases
- Experience with evaluation frameworks (Green/Magenta Book)
- Skills in R, Stata, or Python
- Additional language skills
