Key Responsibilities
Deliver on Warehouse processes and ensure people and process are aligned with Company targets and objectives.
Monitor daily progress on AM/PM shift and performance against KPIs, raising any incidents, risks or issues with the Warehouse Manager.
Deputise Warehouse Manager and step up in their absence to lead warehouse functions in line with set processes.
Develop Warehouse skill levels and knowledge to satisfy current and new business opportunities and ensure health & safety requirements are met.
Analyse system transactions to ensure stock control.
Ensure staff comply with health, safety & environmental regulations & procedures and work safely to protect themselves and others.
Ensure Warehouse develops a multi-functional team capable of cross coverage whenever required.
Undertake any other duties as/when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.
Detailed handover to fellow shift managers at the end of shift ensuring a smooth and consistent transition of workload and priorities.
Manage warehouse department personnel including team leaders and operatives at specified site.
Support recruitment, training and onboarding activities to ensure high-performance and professional culture amongst the department.
Communicate with team members, giving instruction, encouragement and support to instil a positive and performance focused workforce.
Qualifications
Knowledge of business operating systems is desirable
Health & Safety training or qualification is essential
Leadership or Management qualification is desirable
Person Specification
The right person will need to be adaptable to change and flexible with working hours. Whilst this role will cover the Warehouse AM shift, it may also be required to rotate between AM and PM shift as necessary.
Willingness to learn and develop their leadership style
